Bratz Doll Fashions: Sew a Halloween Nightshirt
Written by Fran Matthews

Are you looking for new Bratz doll design ideas? Try this quick and easy Halloween nightshirt. It took me less than 10 minutes to sew it up once I had ironed on the T-shirt transfer. Follow these simple steps, and you will be able to zip one up, too!

  • Doll pattern pieces are typically quite small, so I am always looking to condense and simplify my patterns. Doing this speeds up the sewing process, too, because the final product is made of fewer pieces. I used lemon yellow cotton stretch fabric and an iron-on transfer of a little Halloween bear carrying a pumpkin. You will find that most fabric and craft stores have a nice selection of different iron-on transfer options for you to choose from. They each have their own clear, easy directions to guide you through the process. Once you have your nightshirt pattern piece cut out, sew along the edges of the sleeves and neckline. The Bratz dolls are quite petite, so I am not always able to fold over all the edges. For such small doll outfit, folds can actually add awkward bulk to the clothes. A line sewn across such an edge adds a neat, polished appearance. Occasionally, decorative stitches or embroidery can really help with this.

  • Next, sew up the side seams. After sewing up the Bratz doll Halloween nightshirt, add some decorative lace trim along the bottom hem. Then, sew up the back seam, about half way from the bottom. This allows you to slide the nightshirt on the doll. I like to use Velcro as a fastener on the back of the nightshirt. It is quick, and child-friendly. You can also hand sew snaps, if you prefer. There you are! You are done, already! Sweet dreams to your doll...
