In this project, Ms Clara gives an example of a polymer clay craft. The description is divided into three sections: Material, Direction, and Review. Have fun with the clay!
Materials:
- Polymer Clay (Ms Clara used FIMO black, metallic purple, and metallic copper)
- Star-shaped cookie cutter (or any shape you choose)
Directions:
- Using clay roller, flatten purple and copper clay sections. Overlap the two sections and roll into the shape of a log.
- Using blade, slice the log and arrange sections in desired pattern.
- Use cookie cutter to cut out the star shape (or other shape).
- Place gold beads into the design.
- Use spatula to place design in pan. Bake 30 minutes at 265 degrees.
Review:
Because Ms Clara used "soft" clay, fingerprints were a real problem. With her next project, she will consider investing in a pasta machine for a consistent thickness. But, overall, it was certainly fun to play with the clay!
